Joan Scheckel, producer, writer, director and creator of The Technique™, is known throughout the film world as the crucial creative force behind hundreds of award-winning films and television series, including Soloway's TRANSPARENT, Mill's BEGINNERS and 20TH CENTURY WOMEN, Shapiro's UNREAL, Caro's WHALE RIDER, Dayton Faris LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and many more. Joan has created a revolutionary new approach to writing, directing and acting craft which takes on Hollywood's outmoded story models and asks, "What happens when we take out all the fighting and all the fucking?" Joan questions our addictions to conflict-based narratives and instead reveals a new paradigm for storytelling that embraces action, feeling and meaning.
LINE PRODUCER Leora Glass is a television commercial producer having worked on hundreds of domestic and international productions. She has traveled all over the world collaborating with directors like Errol Morris, Paul Hunter, and Bruce Dowad for clients such as Mercedes Benz, Apple and Pepsi. Her love of films and filmmaking has brought her to a high level of experience in supporting the creative film process.
This is her first foray into the Sundance Film Festival with the beautiful short film “Eve” by Susan Bay Nimoy.
EDITOR Julie Cohen considers herself lucky to have spent the last decade in small, dark rooms helping to tell incredible stories. She has worked extensively in documentary and docu-series, earning three Emmy nominations for her work editing Project Runway. She has also co-edited episodes of Transparent and the groundbreaking I Love Dick, and she will be returning to Transparent as an editor for Season 5.
